The new association for Finnish content producers in the film and television industry, called Audiovisual Producers Finland - APFI, is tasked with representing the interests of producers in the field of audiovisual content production, promoting internationalisation, and organising industry events and competitions. It is also responsible for the collective management of copyrights.
Film and TV export association Audiovisual Finland will close its doors on 31st December 2017. A new producers’ association to be established in the spring of 2018 will in the future be responsible for running initiatives and offering services to promote the internationalization of the Finnish audiovisual sector.
This year’s Finnish Audiovisual Export Award Hulda goes to Rovio Entertainment and Mikael Hed, the Executive Producer of The Angry Birds Movie. The Hulda Award is bestowed upon its recipients for their achievements in taking Finnish creative industry exporting to an entirely new level.
Rising Finnish talent Johannes Östergård has been named one of three finalists in the category of Foreign Documentary at the Student Academy Awards. The documentary film Tarfala is his graduating film from the University of Television and Film Munich. From a total of 1,749 submissions sent in from all over the world, 39 films in seven categories were shortlisted as finalists. The awards ceremony will be held on the 22nd September in Los Angeles.
This year’s Hulda – Finnish Audiovisual Export Award has been presented to production company Rabbit Films, in recognition of the company’s impressive journey onto the international market. Ultimate Expedition, produced by Rabbit Films, marks the first ever television series produced by a Finnish production company for the US market.
A fierce lobbying campaign from the audiovisual industry is finally yielding results in Finland.
FAVEX - Finnish Film & Audiovisual Export, the internationalisation association of Finnish film & TV industry has changed its name into Audiovisual Finland.
